High Flightby xianartComment by cgino: Such a moving verse, always brings a tear to my eyes! And what a great capture, I love how the streams of clouds converge on the flock of birds; perfect :-) |

Motherless Childby xianartComment by ErinM: You've been using overlays to great effect in enhancing the mood of your images, Christian. I love Van Morrison's version of this song. |

Motherless Childby xianartComment by cgino: That is one fantastic overlay! So, is it a painting? The color is fantastic, love the variety of shades and strokes :-) |

High Flightby xianartComment by ErinM: Beautiful. The spirit of your image and words reminds me of my own post for today, also one of soaring birds. This is quite touching, and must have been a gift to you that your father had such foresight. |

Do Not Standby xianartComment by ErinM: What a perfect thing you've done with this. It reflects the words to a tee. It's as though your creative hand has imbued their spirit in the image that we see. |

Epiphanyby xianartComment by colorcarnival: So cool that the shadow from the windows reflects on the woman and then you see the windows in the background as well. I love her look and this moment makes me wonder what he is about to say (or has already said). Very cool photo. |

Do Not Standby xianartComment by Alicia: Oh damn. I started reading the poem and immediately burst into tears. For one, it's so very moving in itself. Then, my mom has asked for it to be read at her memorial service - when she dies, which I hope will not be for a while, but it's looming.
And then I read your comment, and it made my heart heavy. Losing parents is one of life's kicks in the gut, as far as I'm concerned. So sorry for your (quite recent) loss, Christian, and thanks for sharing this photo - the memory - with us. The process is excellent and very fitting.
Oh, I just read what Judy said - yes, I was thinking something along those lines: they may not be here, but the color of their memory is still alive, the sparkle in your heart - I love what you've done with the photo and the words. |
