Oh, antique books! One of my most favorite things in the world! Beautifully done with regards to color and lighting. I might have placed the paperback somewhat to one side or the other rather than dead center, but it's a lovely photograph! Should you ever run across Dumas, The Count of Monti Christo and The Three Musketeers in burgundy cover with gilt pages, let me know. I am missing the three volumes to complete my collection! Love your book collection.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What a wonderful scene to capture, the obvious juxtaposition of beach and snow is accentuated by the pretty bright yellow working with the dull dark tones of the sky. I like your choice of aspect ratio too.

Critical stuff: Not much at all.

Overall: A fine scene, well captured.

Yeah! Love this. The low point of view elevates the scrawny, tiny creature to a more imposing status. The tree and light-to-dark balance the composition beautifully.

A really cools shot with the weather making this extra special. Not sure about the dark edges at the bottom. The dark mood helps to carry the atmosphere of a cold day and I can see myself sipping a hot chocolate behind some windows in a restaurant..enjoying this scene.
