Gods and Generalsby FalcComment by Longfist: This image is excellent. Wonderful depth of field, good contrast of the blue uniform against the lighter ones in the background. Very sharp and chrisp. |

Gods and Generalsby FalcComment by pcody: I like the centered composition with him standing away from the troops and in the spotlight. But then again I imagine how it would look if he was more to the left of the frame with his profile contrasted against the troops. The picture has the correct exposue and perfect dof.
I find myself looking at the garbage on the ground and the one guy's belly sticking out of his jacket and the manicured lawn. These things tend to take away from the fantasy of the picture. I know they could not be controled by the photographer. |

The Captainby FalcComment by RayEthier: Great capture. One can almost see him sitting in some smoke filled tavern, spinning yarns about days of yore.
I truly like this image and you have done well in capturing the history exhibited in the facial lines of this subject.
Good luck to you in the challenge. |

The Captainby FalcComment by magnus: The matching textures between his skin and the leather cap are marvellous. Lighting and tight crop also excellent. |

The Captainby FalcComment by pineapple: They're remarkably deep crow's feet. This is an interesting portrait of the human condition. Very nice work. |

The Captainby FalcComment by hahn23: Magnificent portrait. Intricate detail. Great capture of character. The Captain nearly comes off the monitor into my living room. This is a very memorable image that I hope catches a ribbon. "10" |
