great title, and lovely image! though especially considering that title, i wonder if the tree is really the subject? my eye tends to fall on the rock just to the right of the fern.

Stunning... there is a bit of a fight here between the foreground and the tree as the subject. I imagine you may have tried to lower the camera angle slightly to try & get a little more light under the lower right branches of the tree, yet it seems that the hill behind it wasn't going to go away. On the other hand it may have toned down the competition between the foreground and the subject... In any event it is a very nice photo.
