First things that came to my mind when I saw your photo were : original , very creative.That's something I value because the elements you used are easy to find ; the way you have used them , your idea , was very good.
All is in focus , it's colorful , it's pleasant to see.

To improve it ? well , hard to say , maybe less noise in the sky (surely due to the unsharp mask and sharpening).

I saw this during the challange and thought to myself, "This would be a perfect photo for an article either on divirsity, homelessness or even how our society had changed from a more open to a more suspecious one." I liked the shot overall but something left me off. The colors are great, the expressions are wonderful and I had to come back to it a couple of times to figure out what was bothering me and I finally think I put my finger on it. The balance seems off. You have the man on the left right by the border but the man on the right is more no the thirds line. It's the bench on the right either being cut off or not being cut off enough that seems to bothering me the most. Just putting my hand up and bringing the right side up to the umbrella makes a big difference on the composition of the shot.

Other than that I really can't say much else about the shot, it was the only thing that was really bothering me overall about the shot. :)

Hope my comments help and good luck in future challenges, though after your ribbon you might not need it, LOL :)

Wow, Tim. This is cool! It's an excellent shot, with awesome colors. There's not a lot of critiquing to do; the sky does seem a touch noisy, but congratulations none the less!
