Dad and His Bowling Alleyby timfythetooComment by jdannels: nice moment, I think I would desaturate abit more and got rid of the greens so that all of the background was desaturated, but I like how the photo doesn't feel like it has been desaturated at all, so maybe not. well done. |

Aidan and Grandpa bowlingby timfythetooComment by jdannels: Very nice family moment, my only critique would have been to shoot a higher angle to be from grandpa's perspective or from really low to be from Aidan's perspective. or maybe since your dad owns the bowling alley you could have walked into the gutter down the lane and shot them from the front. I really like the grain in the shot though, I think it works much better than it would have it was super clean and sharp. |

Hocking Hillsby timfythetooComment by UNTITLED: What a fascinating location. Great composition and looks like you handled very well what was some difficult lighting. |

A Rare Sighting of the Mysterious 20 Foot Long Tigerby timfythetooComment by atupdate: Hello from the Critique Club.
What can I say? You took what could be considered a snapshot and made it into a very good challenge entry. You knew going in that this didn't have enough Wow Factor to win but it is nice to see that the voters can reward a good image with a good score. All of the technical aspects are well done, focus, cropping, post processing.
The only suggestion I have is to take some studio lights and a generator with you next time and light the lion's den properly ;-). Nice job.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions regarding this critique.
Tim

The Habitby timfythetooComment by BMacD: Hi! Here̢۪s a comment from the Critique Club.
Nice Shot. Congratulations on your 10th place finish.
Well what more can I sayâ€Â¦ you received lots of good comments.
The line in your shirt and some of the blown whites around the hands were the only things that I could comment on. And in Basic Editing, there̢۪s not much you could do about it.
Too bad your timing didn’t catch the red glow of the cigarette being lit. (But being a nonsmoker, drawing in would have been a real choreâ€Â¦or even made you sickâ€Â¦)
Everything else was really well done. I liked the framing, lighting, colours, focus and DOF.
Good luck with future entries

He's Hiding out in IR Landby timfythetooComment by Artifacts: Nicely done IR except for that ugly guy (me) in the lower left corner. Leaving the sky blue works well except I would eliminate it from the rest of the image.
Arizona is a great place for IR imaging. Stark landscapes taken in the early morning make for great IR images. You ever get out that way you might want to try it. - Steve |
