This is a very good photo, one of my top three. But I don't like the dodging you did here... for my tastes anyway. Either completely black out the background around the lions, or allow the light to "fall off" in the corners.... I don't find the grass all that distracting, but the clear tracing around the females head and back draws my eyes to the dodging. You ahve a good picture here without it. just my two cents.

Very nice. The saturation and contrast are at the borderline of being too much, but no big deal. There is a hot spot on the young (or female). This should score pretty high, in part because it's so cute, but also because of its technical qualities.

Great crop & composition. You've got really good DOF too. Lighting is good and it's an endearing photo. This is a fiercely competitive challenge! 9 (Only because there are a few others that are a hair better IMHO - in any other challenge it would probably be a 10.)

I love the color and the composition. I think you got a great shot that is beyond the normal zoo shot...
