Polly 3by BenComment by ursula: I think I like this one even better than the b/w image you posted to the "upload your new image" thread. I love her expression, and how the face gets lost into the white.

Slow progressby BenComment by timfythetoo: From thumbnail I didnt see anything spectacular but upon opening thisup I said "Yeah baby!". Very cool shot indeed. Unfortunately it was up against one of my faves in the bump game. Or should I now say one of my other faves. Excellent work and a wonderful capture.
Edit to add - blah blah blah blown highlights blah blah blah. I wouldnt change a thing. Message edited by author 2006-12-07 06:12:49. |

Blind Poseby BenComment by BakerBug: Hello from the Critique Club!
I'm not much of a fan of high key shots, but this one works well and does not strike me as blown out. The black and white is well done and is complemented by the grain in this pic.
Being shot at 1/5 sec and ISO 800, this must have been done in fairly low light. Good job on your exposure control!
Your use of the blinds as negative space really works well. The grain of the photo looks very natural over what I am assuming are wood blinds. This really helps keep the grain from being overpowering and helps set a solemn mood.
Congrats on your top scoring photo so far! |

Blind Poseby BenComment by cornettcag: I like this - gritty/grainy and blinds create a mood that is echoed on face. |
