Man I really like the idea of this and the setup...love his look...wonderful other than the lighting...just a straight forward lighting would have worked for this to take away both the blown highlights at the bottom right and shadow to the left. Again this is a very creative shot and I still give you a 8 for this challenge.

I like the composition ... good use of the "rule of thirds" ... I will agree with the previous poster regarding a slight brightening to bring out more details in the shadows ... cool image!

I love the composition/angle ... but maybe you could brighten up the entire image just a tad. Another thing could be to crop the lower left fungi out of the image ... this could put the focus more on the slug.
