Overhead lighting is too harsh, which has washed out the colors and details. Try shooting at a different time of day, or use something to diffuse the light.

Can't even tell where it's leg ends! Don't know how you get more contrast with a chameleon, but this image doesn't really "pop" for me.

This looks over exposed to me, I think it would benefit from lower exposure and slightly higher contrast.
