thank you so much Mel and Lydia for commenting on this photo. I would prob give it a 5-6 also. I wasn't expecting to win a ribbon from it but I still would have liked to get it in ya know? And yes mel I think I have that problem with most of my shots, they just don't meet the challenge that well. Guess that makes me "unique" right, hahaha?

I'd have given it a 5. To me, the focus is exactly where you wanted it - not missed at all. Why would you want a portrait of a lovely girl with a softball out of focus in front of her? That's kinda how I read this if you want this to mean "missed focus". (Oh, just read your note. Duh.)

Anyway, it is a well done shot, but not what I would have expected for the challenge.

I wouldn't really consider this "missed focus" as the ball is in the fore ground, and should be the subject of the image. Now if it was the other way around, and the person was in focus, then yeah, it would be what I would interpret to be "missed focus"
