Day 03by Dirt_DiverComment by CNovack: Darkening the backdrop such that the industrial elements disappear really help the fence and the lock & chain become the standout main focus. And wow, what a difference converting the color version to the B&W because now with the dynamic range in contrasting tones the textures really pop visually. The eye more readily sees the pits, spots, and rust on the fence pipe in the B&W than it does in the original. You took the mundane from a color snapshot and added visual pop & grunge feel with the B&W final composition. |

Day 05by Dirt_DiverComment by tpbremer: definitely post your steps. I wouldn't naturally be able to think that far ahead in processing.
very strong image, and without the before, I would never guess how much it was processed.
adding: well JESUS! thats quite a few steps. I'll have to try something similar on a different image. thanks Message edited by author 2008-06-16 10:37:54. |

Day-07.jpgby Dirt_DiverComment by TCGuru: Nice edit! I like the older feel to the edited version. Almost like an ad from the 80's. |
