Thanx for all votes bringing the image on the 10th place. And thanks to all who gave comments and critique.
Actually I'm a little surprised that it ended that high: I didn't like the image very much when I finally submitted it: the background is not what I wanted and I didn't like how the fingers looked (beside bad manicure). But I didn't want to redo it again and again.

It shows a cress-plant hold between my two little fingers. It was a difficult task: I had to press the button of the camera and then, during the 10 s of the self-timer, had to grab the plant with my fingers and place it in the right distance to the camera. Fortunately the G3 has focus bracketing when shooting with manual focus.

It really meets the challenge. It´s a beatiful image, but in my opinion the fingers is damaging the image. I´d like to see it only without the fingers, I think it would be perfect. But, it´s just my opinion. Good luck. 6

super, excellent detail, (bad manicure, LOL!) and lighting. The background is really blah. it is plain and simple but since it is not the subject, it does not necessarily have to be as well. Composition is fair but I wouold have maybe found a plant the did more of a diagonal bend to onc side ot the other and was a bit longer and shot the fingers to the opposite corne of the top of the plant. even as is move the fingers to my right would have helpe a bit. Very nice regardless.
