Good colors and sharpness, but I'd like to see the subject a bit off center. I'm not sure if it's blown out a just a very white butterfly/moth.

Your efforts were worth it. I love the colors and light and perspective. I don't mind the "blown" stem. It is very bright, but I still see details there. And it brings a certain amount of excitement to the image.

I know how hard this can be. Light is always a problem here, but I like the POV and the texture. Great idea of the mirror in the comments!

I agree with sulamk. The underside needs to be better illuminated. It looks like the flash blew out the stalk of the mushroom and the top.

The coloring and texture of the mushroom make it a great subject though.

the highlights are a bit blown out, but it's not too distracting, the colors are nice and pleasing, but I would like to see this one with a tighter crop.
