A very interesting shot, indeed. I can only imagine what this may have sounded like. I really like the little "tendrils" of smoke that are readiating away from what seems to be the location of the explosion. I think if you could have focused on those, and didn't have some of the background elements (that fence really bothers me for some reason), which are a little distracting to me, it would have been even more interesting.
I like that you have "filled" the frame with the smoke, but an even tighter crop may have been even more intriguing or interesting. Perhaps so that just the center third was showing, and none of the grass on the bottom.
Nicely done, and best to you in future challenges.
