 This was a fun photo to shoot. We had taken a couple of those picolo peats and broken them apart. Then we taped them up really tight and lit the wick. It was a big and loud.

A very interesting shot, indeed. I can only imagine what this may have sounded like. I really like the little "tendrils" of smoke that are readiating away from what seems to be the location of the explosion. I think if you could have focused on those, and didn't have some of the background elements (that fence really bothers me for some reason), which are a little distracting to me, it would have been even more interesting.

I like that you have "filled" the frame with the smoke, but an even tighter crop may have been even more intriguing or interesting. Perhaps so that just the center third was showing, and none of the grass on the bottom.

Nicely done, and best to you in future challenges.

I think this would have been strong enough without the title, maybe even more so - without the title leading me I suspect I'd have come up with more questions. Nicely shot, and well suited to the challenge.

My question is "was there a fire afterward?". Good capture but a bit out of focus. I realize the difficulty in this shot.

Or twelve firecrackers! Fun drama here! Nice diagonal lines, and I like the close crop. Does not inspire deep thought, but certainly a well done photo.
