The Cosmic Vase at Sunrise :)by ursulaComment by wewillexplore: This shot is amazing. I don't like the fallen DoF on the bottom of the vase, nor the spots of white in the glass - blemishes I guess. I hope you picked the best 'side' to shoot. Otherwise amazing - 10. |

The Cosmic Vase at Sunrise :)by ursulaComment by timj351: I like this quite a bit but I am wondering if adding some additional glass element would help as a reference for scale or added interest. I'm not sure though. I just feel that it needs something else compositionally. It still looks really cool with great colors. |

Very nice composition. You have done an excellent job of "filling" the frame without making it look like part of it was cut out accidentally. I like the "curves" between the two, and how they are "nestled" together. The depth of field is awesome in that the details are visible and clear, and the eye focuses on the "stem" of the onion.
My first impression was that perhaps you needed a more obvious secondary color, though you do indeed meet the challenge. To the casual observer/voter, it may appear yellowish instead of orange which is what I think you were going for. Technically and compositionally, this is an awesome shot, and would look wonderful on the wall of a kitchen or restaurant -- maybe a whole garlic/onion series, even.
Good work and best to you in future challenges.
