Nice use of color desaturation and sillouhettes here. It makes a very common scene much more emotive and interesting. I would have liked to see a tighter crop to frame more of the crow. But nice shot regardless.

I just happened to be browsing my comments that others found helpful and couldn't help but notice this one again. Was this photo/entry really your work? The title and photo seem so out of place in your portfolio, especially for someone who has earned 5 ribbons! The quality of your other photos are phenomenal but this appears as if it were taken by your son or daughter.

Nice try - and a good high contrast picture to use. Looks to me that the greens and blues on desaturation removed some of the hues that make the red look real. This looks like a black and white picture with a pure red icon drawn on it - and you very seldom find a pure red anywhere - except in some roses.

I would like to see this photo with her lips and maybe eyes still colored as well as the maple leaf and earring. I also wish the hair wasn't blocking the earring. The wisp of hair between the leaf and earring is perfect by itself.
