not sure I really get the transition here - I can see the old, where's the new ? Just the fact that the railings are around it ? The sky detracts from this - nothing in it - too white/grey.

Thanks to all for their comments and votes. The sub was lit by a small flashlight and the shot was taken with the camera on a mini-tripod. Reuben, I tried your suggestion before I took this shot, it came out OK, but I didn't think people would have a clue as to what the picture was. As for the cropping, I tried this shot a lot of times and could never get the lighting and focus just right. This is the "cream of the crop" of my shots. I would have also liked a smaller aperture to get the left side in focus, but my camera's minimum is 4.0
