A great photo occurs when a great subject combines with great execution. In this case the execution is fine, but the subject does nothing for me. It's not that it's a bad photo, but rather a photo of a subject I don't want to look at. I am sure this sounds negative. Sorry.

Thats a great expression you captured on this dog's face. His fur and the grass are almost identical in texture and tone so it makes him disappear.

this is nice, as it fits the definition pretty well. the crop seems a bit tight tho. i think the use of the rule of thirds could have helped the composition a bit. also, i like the feel you get from the high contrast, but seeing as how the texture of the grass and the dog's fur are very similar, the dog sort of blends in a little too much.
