Hangar, Gulls and Geeseby posthumousComment by bmartuch: There is something about this that I really like but I just can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the color and angle of the stubble. The thumbnail really pulls you into this shot. |

Atroposby posthumousComment by glad2badad: Interesting photo. Not getting the connection to Time. She looks like a psycho nun or something. :) I understand the creative use of DOF but I would like more of her face in focus (at least down thru the eyes). |

smileby posthumousComment by S_Lanterman: Very well composed, and not overly staged (or over sharpened, over saturated, etc. like so many others) |

Chess Table, White to Moveby posthumousComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
"Chess Table, White to Move" is a very cool entry into the Furniture challenge. I have no idea how to play chess so I am not sure where white would be headed. I think you have an awesome concept here. I think it was probably more out of the box then most voters like, which probably results in the not so hot score. But I say make the photo that makes you happy, and I would be proud of this one.
Technically the shot looks good, our lighting is well balanced and our focus is nice and crisp. I think the angle has to grab the viewers eye because it is just not normal. I think it was cool that our perspective is altered since the subject is kind of off the wall to start with. The composition looks good, I would be curious to see the shot with the sky cropped out in comparison to left in. The image might look to confusing if you cropped out the sky.
Overall great job thinking outside the box and defiantly keep it up, this is one of the more creative ones in the challenge. |

smileby posthumousComment by Atirez: I am no photo expert so my comments are based on how I feel about you picture, I hope they are usefull.
I smiled when I first saw this image, so it had the right effect :) Couple of things that I think make this image not as good as it could be are; the snow looks a little gray on my monitor and the crop at the right hand side is a little tight. So it overall - for me - seems to be a sullen image when I think it should be happy and colourfull. Hope this helps. |
