smileby posthumousComment by Atirez: I am no photo expert so my comments are based on how I feel about you picture, I hope they are usefull.
I smiled when I first saw this image, so it had the right effect :) Couple of things that I think make this image not as good as it could be are; the snow looks a little gray on my monitor and the crop at the right hand side is a little tight. So it overall - for me - seems to be a sullen image when I think it should be happy and colourfull. Hope this helps. |

Chess Table, White to Moveby posthumousComment by bmartuch: Don, I'm shocked. I thought this was a very nice shot. I know what your problem was. You committed a mortal sin and tried to make people think without giving them their instant gratification. The idea is great and the tilt really adds to it. This should have scored far higher than it did. |

Atroposby posthumousComment by KarenNfld: Had to look this up since I had no idea what/who Atropos was. Now I understand your photo. I do wish his face was in focus though. |

Hangar, Gulls and Geeseby posthumousComment by magnus: Excellent use of color and selective sharpness (did you blur the background or is that natural? Either way it looks great!). But a bit too much foreground, I'd sacrifice the two geese in the lower left corner and crop just below the third one. Or get radical and loose them all and go for the panoramic look, since the hanger and background works all by itself. |
