Comment by purpleflutterby13:
The paint is interesting, and I swear those top 3 windows look like a face. However, there doesn't really seem to be a big enough variation of light and shadow to really make the duotone interesting.

Eek. That manic grin has a certain crazed, satanic quality to it, and the red light doesn't help. Terrifying.

That fence is really cool. And the tree silhouettes work well. Though I'd really like to see the person about 3 steps back so that they seem to be travelling into the picture rather than already reaching their destination.

This would probably crash and burn in a challenge because of the background, but the portrait is very engaging, and the facial expression is just fantastic.

I spent the last 5 mins flicking between the two and trying to convince myself that it is indeed the same picture.

I like the nice mist around the houses, which is missing in the final version. However, the addition of a dramatic sky in the final one is what really pulls it off. I actually really quite like both, but they're so different. A testiment to the power of post-processing.

Hehe, I like that bit of Central park. There's something nice and mysterious about people disappearing off into darkness.

Some nice geometry, but the light didn't seem to be on your side.

Comment by purpleflutterby13:
Not bad. I like how the eye follows the path and only reaches the main subject of the picture after a journey through shadows. The not-quite-symmetry and the slight tilt of the fence make that journey more curved and interesting.

The exposure it out, and the highlight is clipped. The level is out too. Got to improve on the post process.
