It's a bold photograph. Sideways orientation makes it initially harder to recognize, but then as the viewer grows more comfortable it seems to become more reflective, which is just right for the sentiment in the title. Like transport to another place and time. I am a big fan of ambiguity and uncertainty, because it seems to oblige the viewer to make some effort. To meet you half way. The hints of scrappy flowers are both disguise and motivation in this photograph. So, all in all, I like it very much. 9.

When I first saw this I thought simultaneously of my self portrait entry and of the possibility of its stunning commentary on the other challenge entries which of course you wouldn't have seen. Reminded me of cutout's dqed entry in the gems. But above all that it is almost offhandedly archetypal, deeply resonant.
