My thoughts on the image: It took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at, and I think that was probably what voters struggled with on this particular entry. I do believe you met the parameters of the challenge.
My ideas for improvement: I think this one really needs a defined subject. Without reading the title, something I seldomly do during voting, it is difficult to understand what you were shooting here. It is still in an interesting image, I just think it could use some definition.
Where I would have/did score this entry: I did not vote in this challenge, but, after looking through the challenge results, this one probably would have been a 4 or 5 for me. I do not think that it was a last place finish, but the score was probably pretty close to appropriate. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

My thoughts on the image:I can almost feel the crisp, cool air the second this image loads. Your composition works very well to draw me into and around the entire image. I really like the subject matter, and I like the overall depth of the photo.
My ideas for improvement: First off, I think you could have really made this one pop by upping the contrast with some slight levels adjustments in post-processing. The muted tones are nice, but I think some contrast would help add even more depth to the image. I also feel like the 'negative space' in the image is a little too busy. You were up against some really good entries in this challenge.
Where I would have/did score this entry:I did not vote in this challenge, as I am just now getting back into this site, but, after looking thorough the challenge, this would have probably been a 5 or a 6 from me. I believe that it scored appropriately considering the other entries in this challenge. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

It looks like the top is 100% BW, and the bottom is full color... I might try desaturating the bottom just a touch... this is in danger of feeling like one image layered over another. . .
That moon looks amazing! Great job exposing the front of the mountain and the sky so they both came out! |

I would be curious if it would look better with less of a blue cast on the backside of the mountain and if the brush in the foreground on the right wasn't there. A very nice scene. |

The thing for me is I don't see the 'abstract' connection here. Sorry, just one guys opinion. Good luck. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
