G'day dave
a great stop action capture
the blurred background just looks a little much it does tend to over ride the image
the colors of the car are fantastic and i do agree that if you had caught it moving into or out of a corner it would have added a more dramatic feel to the whole image

if i had voted on this it would have defionately got a 6 from me as well

Great detail and that stare is awesome - you did a fine job of catching that look! Solid composition, drawing us to that very focused eye, then gradually letting us take in the sneer and the laid back ears. Color is good, but that bright green is just a bit off-putting; while it is undoubtedly the color that was there, the mind (at least mine) almost wants a darker, "meaner" green. The green that is there is too kind and gentle for the cat's stare, if that makes sense. (And it probably doesn't!) Although you'd lose the marvelous golden tones of the eye and the coat, I do wonder what this might look like in monochrome. And yep, I think the Topaz did a nice job of bringing out the detail without being obviously Topaz'd - I'd not have known it without your notes.

Here's what I think. I would have given this a 6. Technically it looks good. But kind of static. A different angle on the car would have been nice. Maybe catch it in a turn. The sign in the background is a bit distracting. Some blue sky and the green hills would have been nice with the red car. Hope that helps.
