Colored Bricksby 777STANComment by Kwilson10: I dont really like the color change, maybe if the wall was longer you could just take an interesting shot of the dark red brickwall |

JessicaPortrait-33-V4.jpgby 777STANComment by bassbone: i quite like the lighting on her hair - it really gives the image a nice shine, but it seems that there was not enough light on her face (either with fill flash or reflector). i am not sure that the post processing to lighten her face works here - it seems to make the light very flat and gray - and this doesn't seem consistent with the rest of the lighting in the photo. |

Tunisha-11thAnniversary-021.jpgby 777STANComment by Alicia: Excellent portrait. She was obviously at ease with you taking her photo - her expression is really good. Love the isolation you achieved through the white background, also all the detail - teeth, necklaces, hair - makes for a highly interesting photo.

Tunisha-11thAnniversary-021.jpgby 777STANComment by 777STAN: Thanks for the good word, All! This is encouraging.
Melethia, this dear lady had some facial blemishes that I tried to minimize with the spot-healing tool in PS Elements 4.0...It is obvious to me that I still leave a little to be desired, but I'm learning that it is "just a matter of time." |

Tunisha-11thAnniversary-021.jpgby 777STANComment by Melethia: A very good portrait, Stan! Good even lighting, excellent detail where you want it. There's some obvious cloning/healing on the forward cheek but noticeable only if you're looking for things like that. I suspect you were trying to done down hot spots? There's a patch tool where you can pull a section from elsewhere and "patch" over the hot spot section. I'm not all that proficient with working with it, but if you have Photoshop, you may want to see what you can do with it. |

ClassicLadies-037-V77a.jpgby 777STANComment by Melethia: Looks like this was a very good post processing learning experience. I think you achieved your objective pretty well in the multi-part conversion, but you lost a bit of detail in the lighter color car in the back that exists in the color version. Somehow you also lost a bit of sharpness in the car - it's softer here than in the color version. You did a good job of removing yourself from the reflection! |
