Really funny! It looks like trying to figure out how to do a "HearNoEvil - SeeNoEvil - SpeakNoEvil" shot with ony two people.

In a challenge called unexpected find, I think many voters were looking for an image of an unexpected find (a thing). So, I think your image was sometimes scored on the prejudices of the voters in their search for a thing rather than on the quality of the image. If I had voted this challenge, I would have given it a 6, maybe a 7 on second glance (maybe higher based on a curve). Its well seen, well taken, well composed, and has a splash of humor.

no the customer isn't always right lol

I would have given this a 5 maybe 6. WHile in my head I don't think it's unexpected, to you it was and that's what I look at. It's very clear, great expression. While it doesn't make me go "wow!", it's still a great capture and well executed.

I didn't vote on this challege, but here are a couple of impressions.

The expressions are great. In fact, if you can track these women down, I think they'd get a huge kick out of the capture you've got.

Where (IMHO) this picture falls short, is in relation to the challenge. Voters tend to be picky when it comes to meeting this challenge, and without the title, meeting the challenge isn't terribly obvious.

The composition is fine, but because of it's close-up straight on cropping, you get no sense of the 'distance' that they have unexpectedly found.

Long story short, I think you got voted down because some voters MAY have perceived this as a shoehorn into the challenge.

Cheers

Many thanks for all the comments.

I'm a little surprised that this image gathered 23 votes of 3 and under, but I suppose 'the customer is always right'.
