Back to comment - I think your background blur really carries this image. Cool patterns and nice subdued colors. The cattail up front isnt really grabbing me though. Maybe if it had either been totally poofed out or caught clean and smooth before its explosion may have helped. It just isnt an attractive main subject although the line it takes works well with the bokeh.

Nice creative idea. But apears slightly flat to me. I would like to see the brights a touch brighter and the darks darker. little curves or levels would change that.
