I thought, when I saw this photo just now, that I had already commented on it. Now I remember, I posted this one in the thread "Pick your favorite pic from the person above you".

I like the simplicity of this pic along with the striking contrast between the red and the white against the black background. I also like the diagonals starting with the stem in the bottom left corner, leading towards the centered flower with the two parts of the flower also reaching diagonally towards the opposite corner.

Interesting shot. I, of course, love the flames and the colors they've produced, the focus looks rather soft on the bottle though I think more fill light would help make the focus better. That said I think removing the bottle from the image entirely would help alleviate some of the focus issues since the flames and shotglass seem to be fairly focused. With this being the fire challenge I would think that just the flames in the background and the shot glass on its own would really make a striking image, especially with the pure black background behind it and the flames on the ground framing the fiery shotgloss. Might be worth revisiting to give that a try. I gave a 5

I love the composition of this shot. I like the colors of boat and how the angle/perspective makes it appear that it is approaching the viewer by 'sailing' out of the shot. The mood of the photo is one of a peaceful solitude. I agree with others that this is a great shot, it has all the right elements that make it appealing but if you do a little PS with upping the saturation, a bit of curves and some contrast adjustments it will move from the great category into the outstanding cateory.

Great use of props not to overpower the fire with the bottle etc as some others have done in this challenge

This is cool :) I had hoped someone would do the Sambuca and you've done it well. Unsure if it's just that my eyes are failing me today, but the focus seems a touch soft? Love it all the same :)
