Beside Derwentby taljComment by cuspie: I think the positioning is great for this shot. I also think all space has been used well. Love the textures on the canoe and the fog. The only thing I would like more of is saturation. |

Yellow Lilyby taljComment by zardoz: Certainly an interesting composition. The simplicity appeals to me, as it does with your other flower pictures. I think of the three this one is the weakest but Iâm struggling to say why. I think perhaps it is the very light lower section of the flower that prevents my eye flowing with the curve. Perhaps if this part was toned down a little or even cropped off it would work better. The other thing is the fold near the top that touches the edge of the image, it seems to drag my eye from the frame.
Once again your use of light is superb.

Simple Roseby taljComment by zardoz: A beautiful image, you have brought out the textures particularly well. The lighting is quite superb. I like the simplicity of your flower images, they are a refreshing change. It is the ânegative spaceâ that make this image for me, without it it would be just another, all be it very good, flower picture. Message edited by author 2006-09-26 08:05:52. |

Sheenaby taljComment by violinist123: Took a long time to find some commentless photos in your portfolio ;)
Of the 4 big cats shots I just checked out, I like this one the best of the bunch. Nice sharp face, got it licking its chops, nice natural colors. Nothing bad to say really, though I wonder how it would look cropped just around the cats face so those goofy looking whiskers are more prominent in the frame. The whiskers and the tounge would add a bit of humor to the shot I think. Anyway, nice shot. I have the same lense and love the colors, contrast and sharpness it delivers. |

Museum Loveby taljComment by PhilipDyer: I like this shot a lot. I think previous color comments are correct -- I would warm up the shot to counter the blue/green cast. I love photos that have a huge architectural scale with people dwarfed by a large building, but in this case I don't think the large scale adds to the image. If you crop out the ceiling, it would simplify the composition and draw even more attention to the couple. But I'm being picky because you asked for a critique -- this is a really nice photo as it is. |

Museum Loveby taljComment by Jaded_Housewife: Too OOf to me. if maybe you could sharpen the couple and mask the rest maybe even make them stand out with some slight dodging over them. not enough to notice but just enough to draw the eye. Right now my eye is drawn to the roof area at the top. HTH |

Museum Loveby taljComment by shanelighter: Yes, the colour balance is certainly off. But I'd say too green, not too blue. Take note, I'm on an uncalibrated monitor at work, but that's what I see.
Like the composition though. |
