This image is desolate in the broad sense of the word. My problem with it is that there is nothing that engages my interest. I look at the center and see a tennis ball type object, but nothing that would use it. The weight of the top of the image is overbearing. Your colors and focus are very good I just think you need a better subject. 5

I love the detail that you have captured in the texture of the perals. The composition works very well, too. I feel like this is too flat and a little underexposed. Adding some contrast in the quatertones/midtones and bringing the highlights up just a bit (so that the brightest white is really white, but not blown out) would make this even better. 7 from me. I think it could have been an 8 or a 9 with a curves tweak.
