I feel much the same, though I don't think I noticed the noise as much the first time I looked at it.

This is my tribute to my best friend brenda, who passed away this morning, 3-7-2006.
I have renamed this image "Angels of Light", in memory of her.
Only four months ago, she lost the love of her life, as her husband Ted, passed away also.
They are now in gods care in heaven, with the angels.
Rest in peace my friends.

There is some fascinating stuff going on inside the glass, here. But I find the busy periphery too distracting.

If this was an advanced editing challenge, I'd suggest blurring and desaturating the background. For a basic editing challenge like this, though, you're going to have to think of another way of composing the shot; getting the colour inside the glass with creating too distracting a background.
