I like the somewhat brown coloring in this photo. The grain is also balanced very well and it is very in focus!

wow...you have really created something here...the toning and angle are wonderful...
and I have to say...I just now read posthumous' comment, and am laughing...
not sure if it is an insult or compliment for you, but I certainly appreciate any association with this shot!

i like the color (or lack of) a lot.
the grain is nice and subtle.
the highlights and shadows are perfect.
abstract with a great depth of field.
I'm not sure this is going to be everyone's opinion, but it's mine and that's all that matters :-)

Comment by PHOTOKID:
This photo reminds me of a scene from a horror movie that is a childs face fading to black, I cannot remember which one. This is a very powerful image. I like the lighting done on the pupils to have them stand out from the dark. I love the post processing done on the face to give the dirty look.

Honestly I wouldnt change a thing I think the exposure is dead on if the above is what you were going for and I love the compostion of the portrait.

I wonder if this would have done well in the low key challenge.

Hope this Helps.

Now, that is sweet! Looks a little like the cover from Flaw's "Through the Eyes." Great colours!

It may not have been DPC-friendly, but it remains a stunning image. Not just stunning...perfect. It disheartens me a little bit that this ended up so far down in the voting.

Comment by jblaylockrayner:
interesting crop - The skin tones just look little too heavy around the cheek and lip.
