The contrast blows a lot of detail here. The composition is quite centered as well. 4

This would have been a great pet portrait, but I'm afraid the "dirt" is not so obvious in this image. Although it's a good image, I'm afraid I must vote lower than I normally would on this because in my eyes it .... uhm..... I hate to say it.... DNMC. - 4

You deserved better than the score you got, and you deserve at least one positive comment.

This photo spoke to me, and I gave it a 6. I love seeing that a place like this still exists. Those two handicap signs (as big as the name of the town) are so silly, as if a person in a wheel chair couldn't figure out they should use the ramp. I think this shot is amusing and charming.

To make this a better photo I recommend placing the tree to the side. This way it appears the tree is coming out of the gentleman's back. Also a closer crop to get rid of the chair, lamps, coats and books would have been better.

I love the expression on his face. The lighting is a bit harsh though :(

Very busy, moving in closer or zooming in tighter would help eliminate the distracting background clutter.

Comment by Gordon:
Cropping this vertically would help to remove the background clutter (chairs, book case, coats, lamps etc and would tend to favour the vertical subjects (people/ xmas tree)
