Angel's flightby catpixelComment by Swashbuckler: Neat picture, the pidgeon is a nice touch. The sun behind the statue is another nice touch. I don't care for the buildings all that much, but overall, it's pretty nice. 7 Swash |

Angel's flightby catpixelComment by mjcecil: I am wondering what prevented you from cropping to just the left side... Otherwise, a wonderful capture. |

Flat tire blues.by catpixelComment by andrewm: The Critique Club
Technically your photo is well exposed for the conditions but I think the focus is out and not pin-sharp. I can̢۪t see where the camera focussed so maybe you were moving when you took this shot. The photo seems to be well processed with no digital artefacts although I think a bit more colour saturation and contrast may have helped this photo.Your cropping is very close which detracts from the image.
Compositionally—as you say a simple shot of a motorbike—but this is where I feel you missed many opportunities for a great photo. If this had been taken from any of many angles such as-- from the front wheel -- emphasising the flat tyre and the blue mudguard. Look at Grayces’ splendid photo of the vintage car—the angle of the photo emphasises the curves and grace of the design. Sometimes the composition and angle of the photo gives one a new view of a commonplace object and this is what your photo lacks. Your title however gives a wry angle to the shot with a nice double meaning.

Ice-flowby catpixelComment by Jacko: I like the textured look of this shot. Looks a little underexposed. Might want to brighten it up a little with your editing software. I like the fact there are so many people to look at ... could sit there and study the picture for 15 minutes, just looking a the different people and what they are wearing. Good luck. jacko 8 |

Angel's flightby catpixelComment by Manic: Interesting use of the sun to create a silhouette, and the bird (pigeon?) in flight is a nice catch. However, due to the silhouetting and the angle, the wings on the statue dont make it immediately clear what it is - a few paces to the right would mean that the left wing didnt go throught the statue's head, and it would still be silhouetted against the sun. The focus on the background feels a bit off - I'd prefer it if the DoF was either a bit deeper with everything in focus, or a bit shallower, with the background trees more out of focus. |

Angel's flightby catpixelComment by PTLParsons: Did you realize the bird was there when you took this? It adds so much to an already beautiful photo. Well done. |

Angel's flightby catpixelComment by LindaLee: An interesting shot, especially since you were able to capture the bird in flight - I think it adds to the appeal of the shot. I like the look of the angel against the gray sky and the stark, bare trees. It definitely has a sort of "other-worldly" feel to it. Composition works well for me. I think my favorite thing about it is that everything is backlit, and in silhouette. 8. lhall |
