Champagne Toastby catpixelComment by joshua: how is your picture not cliche and how is it original...champagne toast is probably in the top ten cliche moments on new year's eve. in fact several of the top ten in this challenge represented champagne. second the arm isn't totally in focus. it looks soft when compared to the person's head. and it is overexposed and the huge shadow on the persons head is bad and the glass is tilted and the color is bad. |

Walk On By.by catpixelComment by PTLParsons: Good shot for the song. The man walking on by is too out of focus. In focus he still would have shone walking. The rest of the photo needs a little sharper focus also. Could stand to be a little ighter. Good idea, just needs better execution, in my opinion. Will still give it a 6 for composition, meeting challenge, and decent snapshot. PTL |

Walk On By.by catpixelComment by albright1: What a sad commentary on the life of a busker! This would make a great shot for a newspaper. I also like the way the busker's hand is blurred as he strums. Very day-in-the-life. |

Life on the L-edgeby catpixelComment by Swashbuckler: Good photo! (This is MY favorite book!) While I get the strangeness you have, I was hoping for much more out of this world strange from this challenge. 7 Swash |

Champagne Toastby catpixelComment by catpixel: On coming dead last:
Looking at the three absolute cliché’s that took the three ribbons, I actually don't feel so bad. I really like my picture and consider it a 10 regardless. The focus is perfect. (Funny how no one mentioned that) The colors are bold and rich; the garish light on her hand accurately portrays the moment. Most of all I can say without fear of being shot down, that this was an original idea. I didn't get this out of a photography manual, there weren't eight other people doing basically the same thing, you don't see it repeated everywhere. Who knows maybe one day you will.
Am I being arrogant, ungracious? Probably. But it's between that and caving into to someone else's vision, and I won̢۪t do that. |
