Spilt Saltby gerardComment by emorgan49: Oooh like a dutch painting - the background drapes are perfect so are the shakers and I like to soft focus. Colors all work together. highlights well placed. No advice to give here, it is just rigt 10 |

Spilt Saltby gerardComment by crabappl3: DOF focusing on the removed top might have made a crisper image. Focus seems to be on the canvas in the back. Good lighting and composition. |

Spilt Saltby gerardComment by cbonsall: nice, I like the indivdual granules, maybe if you'd zoomed in on those it'd been better. |

Vanishing Dollsby gerardComment by gerard: Thanks for the comments and advice. I'm sure most people figured out that this was a multi exposure, with 5 exposures in total. I guess the shot was spoiled a little by the line... ah.. Well, the line was the meeting point of two sheets of paper. I think the multi-exposure made the line more noticeable. Although the line wasn't intentional in the original shot, I thought (as inspzil suggested) that it helped the overall illusion. I thought the line dividing the picture was like a metaphor for the dolls, which also were divided in two, and also helped the transparency illusion. But I guess it was pretty distracting and the shot would have looked better without it. |
