I almost let this one pass because it made me think of art from early REM albums but by the title that clearly wasn't the intent. It's a cool photo but I voted kind of low because of the DNMC element. It was pretty clear from the challenge description that it was the 1980's. :D

Sneaky.. heh. I like the different take with the choice of using a different century. The coloring is nice, helps extend the feeling of antique/old. I wish the lighting were a bit better on the windmill thingie because it looks like its trying to be a silhouette but there's just enough light that details can be seen just faintly and that makes me wish it were lit completely. So, for me, it'd be better if it was a complete silhouette or the details were absolutely visible. I gave a 5
