To me, a portrait includes controlling the lighting and setting, and I should be able to see the subject's face. The fire hydrant could work, but wait until the sun is not so harsh. The fence doesn't add anything, and I can't see the dog's face. When I look at this shot, the first thing I see is the hydrant, then the shadow, then the dog.

I think the DoF should be just a little deeper. It would be nice if all of the wing were in focus.

Nice coloring but I would have voted this shot way higher if the DOF had been on the butterflies head, having it on the wing kindof doesn´t make sense to me.
