Everything that I know about sports photography tells me that this is almost a flawless image.

The only thing is the bg fence line that cuts through your player.

Great comp, great color, great capture, great emotional value, dirt blood texture nice, light a bit flat but what are ya going to do?, It's not bad however, great shallow dof focusing on the players only, just excellent over all.

Excellent shot and presentation. He looks so... smug. Not really the word I want but I can't think of another at the moment. Detail is exceptional (I have serious lens envy). I don't think you went overboard on the eye, either. It's so very hard to tell when you edit your own pictures, isn't it? I never go far enough, I think, simply because I see the changes so dramatically.
