People need to relax, get a life, and take the sticks out of their behinds!!!! There is nothing wrong with the content (especially when there is an entire category of nudity on here... and this is just rubber) and definitely nothing wrong with the shot!!!!! In fact I love the lighting and the reflections... nicely done!!!

and yes, this site is open for all ages, but if you are that concerned about what your child might be looking at, then view the photos first and if you question the content... dont let them on that week!

good job lkn4truth on takin the gutsy shot... it was the first thing i thought of too!! haha

Why, if someone was offended, did they come back to view this shot after voting was closed? (JULIBOC)

If small boxed in narrow minds are offended or shocked by art at any level, then they should stay out of artistic sites. People view art differently. Vote on the technical merits . . . if the subject matter is something you don't like . . . so be it . . . but don't knock something technically.

This is about the artwork, not the person, don't go harrassing people personally . . . it is about the PICTURE . . . not the person.

If someone is so narrow that they can only see the subject and not the technical aspects of a shot, then they should not be on this or any other artistic voting type site.

It is a vibrator -- millions are owned worldwide by men and women of all colors, socioeconmic classes, religions, etc. Get over it. And yes, your children, probably do know what they are and that mom keeps her's in the second drawer of her nightstand. COME ON PEOPLE . . . SEX IS PART OF LIFE ON PLANET EARTH, IT IS NOT DIRTY, NUDITY IS NOT BAD, FORNIFICATION HAPPENS. GET A FREAKIN GRIP. Sex, art, emotions, love, nudity, lust . . . it is all there . . . . on DPCHALLENGE. Get over your freaking self-righteous, narrowminded, boxed-in selves.

Here's my response to your side note above about being ticked off by the 24 '1' votes.

In my opinion it was tasteless, immature, and a lousy photo. It deserved a 1 from me, and I thought it only fair to give you an explanation. I noticed that, of all the '1's you got, I was the only voter to tell you why I voted that way. You could easily have put any vibrator, or other battery operated device in place of the dildo. It was unnecessary from an artistic stand point and IMO was done purely for the shock factor. Believe me, I am old enough, and experienced enough to not be shocked by such things. And I appreciate a beautiful nude as much as anyone.

I disagree with those who said the lighting was good - the highlights were blown out. The composition was only mediocre. On it's technical merit alone I might have given it a 4. But there is more to art and photography than just technical merit. Subjective reaction is always a factor in a viewer's opinion of a work of art. So there you have my full opinion. If you can't take your knocks, then don't put your work out for public reaction.

You know what, I did not know what this was at 11 and if the persons who kid say this does then they have bigger issues then complaining to you about the photo. I love fine art nudes and not one person can say what is art and what is not cause it is different for everyone. Keep doing what you are doing and don't worry about the people who get offended. If they don't like it then they can choose not to be apart of the site.
As far as the photo goes, I think your light could have been more exciting, it is a little to straight on for my tastes. I like dramitic light!

I got a kick out of the picture, but the comment I'm quoting above is sophomoric. "Don't worry about the people who get offended!"? What kind of attitude is that? We should all take an attitude of responsibility toward the community. Different people will differ on what that entails, but "Don't worry about the people who get offended" is anti-community, selfish and childish. I say, "Be considerate of the community. Weigh the consequences and implications of your actions; and then make your decision." Sometimes people will take issue with those decisions. Sometimes you will choose to push the limits; and sometimes that will be ok. But don't approach it with the attitude advocated in that quote.
