Three Speed Boyfriendby lkn4truthComment by levyj413: Heh.
I would recommend:
a) Taking the 1s in stride. You had to know you'd anger some people, and they're entitled to be angry if this kind of thing makes them angry. It's not for you or anyone else to tell them what they think is appropriate.
b) Taking the 10s in stride. You had to know some people would so enjoy the audacity that they'd give you a 10. It's not good form to tell them they were wrong, nor is it up to the 1 crowd to tell them that.
c) Enjoying the notoriety. After all, you put the shot in, you might as well sit back and watch the fireworks on both sides. And stop apologizing in your notes! You knew what you were doing, so take pride in it!
I probably would've voted this on its merits and then given you a point for having the guts to enter it. :) |

Three Speed Boyfriendby lkn4truthComment by fotomann_forever: I'm just back to compliment you on receiving such a wide variety of comments and votes...
Art is about reaction and from the voting histogram you got reactions from all ends of the spectrum.
You got hammered pretty hard on the low-end, but only one person would comment on technical merit (which I disagree with).
Well done. :-)
Now, I do wonder what the photo would have looked like if you had raised the dildo off the glass and kept only a reflection of it in the glass slightly out of focus. Compositionally, I think it would have been stronger, but at the same time would lose some of the in your face punch.
As far as the "wash it" comments, I'm assuming that that translucent dildo has sparkles in it. I'm not sure how to make that more apparent without blowing highlights everywhere. |

Idle Threatby lkn4truthComment by InDots: It's a good pic, but would be better when the camera would be fully perpendicular to the chess field. |
