Not To Be So Depressive by sahkoComment by dr rick: Very moody. I especially like how the column divides the photo into two parts, separating the model from the bulk of the photo; ugly though it may be, it beats isolation. Very well done! |

Not To Be So Depressive by sahkoComment by JPR: I hope you become less depressive too. However, don't stop letting that feeling out creatively, cause it's beautiful. The setting, composition, model, lighting, and processing are all beautiful. 10 |

Old ladyby sahkoComment by Dr.Confuser: It may be that you won't agree with me, but in my mind "candid" implies a photograph of a person at a candid (i.e. unaware of the camera) moment. So, to that way of thinking, this doesn't really meet the challenge.
This is such a great photo. though, that I'll assume it was taken with a really long lens and that the subject really wasn't aware. Great character in the face. Perfectly lit. Nicely framed. Very appealing in its white point / black point balance. Focus is dead on. In short a perfect photo ... except for the challenge theme thing. |

Not To Be So Depressive by sahkoComment by Azrifel: This photo is so complete. Everything seems to work together. The cold toning, the mess in the background, the clothes of the subject, the pose, the look on the face and the color toning. Yes, it breathes depression.
Excellent job, one of two 10's in this challenge. |

Not To Be So Depressive by sahkoComment by dsb_mac: The calibre of the picture itself obviously is high. though for me, if i look at it without the title, the connection to the challenge, while still there, is more elusive. the "Not" part of the title is much less evident in the photo itself. 8. 10 if I felt a clearer photographic connection to the challenge. Very good work, as always. my only real complaint is that you don't submit more often! I can't get tired of looking at these. |

Old ladyby sahkoComment by dartompkins: The focus and the tones here are excellent. It doesn't feel real candid to me, but wow what an excellent portrait. 9. |
