Three Kingsby crabappl3Comment by justine: I don't get the reference to _kings_ but I sure like the colors, composition and shadows. Cool idea. |

Dairy Queen by crabappl3Comment by e301: For those intersted, Dr Harold Edgerton, known simply as 'Doc' to his students at MIT, was the pioneer of this trick - indeed his 'Milk Drop Coronet' is perhaps his most famous image, and prints of it sell for phenomenal sums. This is perhaps better than his shot - but then the poor guy was shooting in the 1940's (I think), with his own new invention, the strobe flash: we now, of course, have the good fortune to be able to see our shots straight away, and select the best. Worth checking out his work, if you get the chance.

Three Kingsby crabappl3Comment by Natator: Very well done indeed. Excellent use of coloured shadows, when most people consider a shadow has to be black. |

...in her fieldby crabappl3Comment by dr rick: Well posed and composed. The lighting makes the subject seem too light in contrast with the dark background. But that's a minor point; this photo expresses solitude very well. |

...in her fieldby crabappl3Comment by mirdonamy: Great color, great DOF, she's all alone in the photo, but the photographer is in clear view of her, not sneaking up... she's not all alone. But without judgement on that note, you can see the message well, esp if this was a poster in a store! |
