Nice, "real life" shot, cool venue, and not too much PP at all! You really rescued a dark photo by judicious lightening/brightening. Good to be sharing another side challenge.

Great job on the processing and certainly holding the camera steady for 1/15. As soon as I opened this I thought I saw a bit of Fractalius, and you used just the right amount here.

Alicia, I love your little explanation... "it's what I do"... too funny! And very "you". Really cool what you pulled from this, particularly the detail in the wall!

You did a great job of lightening this without loosing details. I enjoyed especially trying to read the writing on the wall. Wait, isn't that a song lyric? LOL Hmmmm, oh well. I'll bet this guy was amazing! Being a flautist myself, I can't imagine moving around like that while playing :)

I say process away...if it's hardly noticable when you're finished you've done well...and by hardly noticable I simply mean that it doesn't take away from the context of the pic. Nice work!

Wow, you've really captured the energy and concentration in this shot, well done. Did you use AF on this? I ask because my autofocus was a pain in low-light when I used the 50mm with my old 350D. I don't know if the focus is locked on the back wall but he could be sharper - you probably could have got away with boosting the ISO on this.

I really like how the musician is so into what he's doing. You caught a great moment!

As you can tell I like the no crop suggestion.

I don't think the "unsinful" ratio of all photography should be dictated by camera sensor manufacturers, so I would not only take that with a grain of salt, I'd call BS.

I like the way you framed this shot with the background. The angle of the flute against the verticle lines of his body & the mic along with the background make for a nice composition. Being indoors I'm curious what settings you were working with.

ETA: thanks for adding the settings. I'm surprised there's not more motion blur at that speed with the way musicians move.
