Love the fact that the BG is not perfect black, it add a mysterious depth to the shot in my view. The subtle exposure on the head vs the harsh highlights on the eyes and the beak are very nice. Great shot.

A wonderful shot, very quiet and serene. I like the colors at first glance, the golden hue of the sky, the reflection on the water, the line of cloud in the sky all works so well, the bird certainly was a lucky break, I had started this at a 7 because it was so simple, too simple but coming back, I see and I think I understand the simplicity. Going to a 10 :)

Nice composition. The seagull modifier is what really makes this shot in my opinion. There is some banding in the glow around the sun, perhaps from a little too much JPEG compression?
