Friend or Foeby jab119Comment by UberFish: I had a look at doing camoflage and deception in spiders this week, but a frost has sent all the wolf spiders to bed for the year. When photographing things like this you need: A tripod, a bright windless day, reflectors and a shade. Set up the tripod,camera in macro mode a few centimeters from the subject. Set up as small an aperture as possible (I go down to about 1/8 sec if I can get away with it, 1/60 sec if theres a breeze). Shade the spider, as they are very hairy and direct light causes the hairs to show up as bright white. Use the reflectors to get a bit of light onto it. Try not to disturb it, as it'll run away into a corner and take a while to come out again. |
