The Louvre Pyramidsby elee3009Comment by UNTITLED: Very nice light coming through the glass. Very cool symmetrical composition with the two pyramids. I didn't realize it was two pyramids when I first looked at it. I like the light on the museum buildings(?) also. Very nice, Eileen! |

Young Thoughtsby elee3009Comment by rox_rox: Good use of the color red (again). I like the grain and the off-center composition. The objects behind her head don't really add anything, IMHO. Very nice image. |

Pretty Maids in a Rowby elee3009Comment by Germaine: The girls remind me of birds perched on a telephone wire! I wonder what would happen if you cropped (or cloned) the picture to get rid of the two people sitting on the bench across from them. Maybe make the whole picture a tad brighter. I love the reflections in the water. A really, really nice picture. |

Summer Poetryby elee3009Comment by sfalice: Greetings from the Critique Club
Well, your commentors gave it to you straight. This very nice image suffered from "blob in the foreground." You accidentally created a barrier that made it hard to get at the beauty of that pink flower and flower stem in the middle ground.
I tend to forget sometimes that it's okay to do a little groundskeeping. If only with a clothspin (or the like) to keep intrusive vegetation out of the way of the subject.
I'd probably suggest a little more focus on that pretty pink flower, either by use of a tripod or waiting for any wind to die down for that split second you need to make it sharper.
And finally, (I know, enough already!) you might try cropping out that partial blue flower on the left. This would concentrate the viewers attention on that lovely pink flower that I think you want as your focal point. See what you think. Is it better? Or not?
Still, I'm glad to have seen this image. Not only does it make me nostalgic for what I think may be peonies, but it makes me see this lovely garden spot through your eyes. Thank you!

Re-visiting Monet ... in a dreamby elee3009Comment by mpeters: Wow, 10 favs! Nice work.
YOu definitely made the bokeh either a primary or strong secondary subject. I feel as if the foreground flowers are framing the OOF floowers in the BG. NOt sure how you achieved this effect but it is very paint-like. Great finish in a challenge with ovre 400 entries. |

Summer Poetryby elee3009Comment by Melethia: In this challenge, I looked for good composition/in-camera framing - in this picture, the OOF leaves in the foreground are a bit overwhelming for my taste, pulling the eye away from the rose. |

Keeping Paceby elee3009Comment by Jutilda: I see now reason for this to have not ranked much higher. I had given it a 10, liking not only the overall image, but the bright colors, composition and perfect blur. UGH - voters just don't get it do they? |
