Back to comment....this is very cool - feels darker in general than the original. I like the bolt & the heavy blood - good ideas. The skin looks so leathery - like it's not even real - it makes me want to touch it. Nice job.

There was a great article many years ago in the JAMA, I believe, about the physiology of crucifixion. The ropes, in your case here, are important, because without them the hands would rip and the body would fall. Otherwise they nailed the victim through the wrist between the two arm bones. I'll have to hunt the original of this down and see. I like your PP a lot. Powerful image to those of us who believe, perhaps unappealing to the rest. 8

Seriously, this was one of my favorite portraits in this challenge. I gave it a 10! It was a standout, and I can't beLIEVE it placed 72nd! Jeeeeeeeeez. . .what were people thinking! But 6.2 is a great score.
